Launch is scheduled for 3:25 pm next Wednesday (25) and will be broadcast live on YouTube.

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) will launch, next Wednesday (25), two new satellites from Project Lessonia – 1, radar remote sensing, called Carcará I and Carcará II.The launch is scheduled for 3:25 pm, and will take place using SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, at the Kennedy Space Center, in Cape Canaveral, in the United States, and can be monitored through the Space Operations Center – COPE, in Brasília, with live broadcast, on the official Spacex YouTube channel.

The Lessonia Project consists of the acquisition of several low-orbit satellites, which seek to meet the needs of the Armed Forces, the Management and Operational Center for the Amazon Protection System, and other government agencies.

The Lessonia Project's imaging system uses an active detection sensor that makes it possible to generate high-resolution images at any time of the day or night, regardless of the meteorological situation, because the signal passes through the clouds, and will allow continuous monitoring of areas of interest of Brazil.

The images obtained will be used to combat drug trafficking and illegal mining, observe fires, update cartographic data, determine the navigability of rivers, monitor natural disasters, and support surveillance and border control operations. According to the FAB, the satellites are 1 cubic meter, weigh one hundred kilos, have 5 solar panels and a power of 300W.
